The traditional fort will celebrate our nation’s poets and writers in collaboration with the Academy of Poetry. Each month, a rich performing arts programme will be presented in the palace courtyard, and will include poetry and literary readings on national history.
“Literary Evenings” Series: Tuwi Bakheeta

Based on the Novel with the same title by the Emirati novelist Mariam Al Ghafly this theater play is the first Emirati novel turned into theatre show by Sharjah National Theatre group, directed by Yahya Al Badri.
The play - based on the book -is with a focus on the strong relation between desert and Bedouin, the ways of adapting with the challenges they face, by creating the best traditions to use its resources; during such a long journey a very special relation between humans/Bedouin and their nature was nourished. Knowing that sands do not keep heritage neither traces, the only way to protect heritage and memories from disappearing was the human minds, طوي بخيتة talks about the struggle of a person living in his/her memories, and the need of letting go and move on, it highlight the question: which one will be stronger to survive, memories or the surviving instinct?
The free event is held in the courtyard of the picturesque Qasr Al Muwaiji fort.celebration and honouring of the Arabic, Oriental and International literary creation. The evenings are presenting a variety of the literary elements from the novels, short stories, poetry, prose, and verbal storytelling, film screenings, and theatre plays from the Emirati and international heritage.
The performance will take place on Saturday April 1st 2017 in the Qasr Al Muwaiji Courtyard.
